Students in higher education need to have competence in the field of scientific reasoning, be critical, and couldbe able to communicate their thoughts scientifically. In this regard, it is deemed necessary to organize a program of activities that can train and improve the ability of scientific attitudes for students in higher education. Therefore, the State Agricultural Polytechnic of Kupang organized a Student Scientific Writing Competition (LKTI) which aimed to motivate students to be able to express their aspirations and opinions on strategic issues in Horticultural Agriculture, Dry Land Agriculture, Livestock, Forestry, and Fisheries.
The LKTI activity was held on Friday, November 25th, 2021 in the Community Center room of the Kupang State Agricultural Polytechnic while still observing the Health Protocol. This activity was officially opened by the Director of the Kupang State Agricultural Polytechnic, Ir. Thomas Lapenangga, MS. In his remarks the Director said that in the future the results of student research should be of direct benefit to the community and business actors. Students must be able to solve problems in the community by raising the problems experienced by breeders or cultivators as research variables, so that the results of their research become useful recommendations for the community.
The LKTI activity, which was chaired by Julfikar, a student from the Department of Food Crops and Horticulture and assisted by Soleman De Haan from the Department of Fisheries and Marine Affairs, was attended by 3 groups of Politani Kupang students from the D3 level, namely 2 groups from the Animal Health Study Program and 1 group from the Livestock Production Study Program.
